About the Library

Lecture in the libraryFormed in 1997, Adelaide Theological Library supports the teaching and research of the Adelaide College of Divinity and the Flinders University Department of Theology.

The library is an ecumenical collection including Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Church traditions and has developed from the combined collections of Parkin-Wesley College, St. Francis Xavier Seminary, St. Barnabas College and the Society of the Sacred Mission (Adelaide). Adelaide Theological Library is affiliated with the Flinders University Library and its catalogue is integrated with the Flinders University Library catalogue. It is open to the public, however borrowing from the collection may incur an annual fee.

The entrance to the library is on the first floor. The collection is spread over 2 floors. The first floor houses computing and study facilities, Reference and Reserve collections, journals, post 1960s book collection (Theology-main) and the Distance collection. The Ground floor houses older journals and pre 1960s books (Theology-stacks). Book Sales are held on the ground floor.

The Adelaide Theological Library seeks to support people in their search for theological understanding by providing a professional and accessible service in a welcoming environment and by developing an ecumenical collection that is relevant for the Adelaide College of Divinity.
